Thinking I have all the Time...

I was cleaning a drawer in my bedside table and found this . I remember writing it early one morning when Tori ( my youngest) was getting ready to graduate. It is definetly a reminder to enjoy every moment!
In my arms a baby placed
her wrinkly skin, fuzzy head
so warm and soft and sweet
So grateful that I softly cry.
I watch her grow, I see her change
my heart is full
knowing she is mine
thinking I have all the time...
From wanting a mother's comfort
too soon she is 1 and 3 and 5
with wonderment exploring
her world, happy to be alive.
With a sister times two
there is laughter and mischief
growing up the same
yet, all so beautifully different.
Endless bike rides to the park
chasing butterflies with a net
long lazy days in the lake
laughing, playing until the sun set.
I watch them grow, I watch them change
my heart is full
knowing they are mine
thinking I have all the time...
Teenagers they become
with emotions that twist and bend
wondering where my little girls went
but all is well in the end.
Enjoying long walks and conversation
long lazy days at the lake
crazy friends and laughs around
many memories here to make.
I watch them grow, I watch them change
my heart is full
knowing they are mine
thinking I have all the time...
We raise them up
to set them free
Its what we want
but, letting go is not easy.
And though it aches,
my heart is still full.
